Remodeling of the Live Room 2006

Here's a couple pictures of some of the changes we've made. It still has lots of work left, but it's getting closer to being finished.

Due to the recent remodeling we're doing here, the studio is not in cosmetically pristine shape, but it's sounding better than it ever has before. For those of you who haven't heard yet, we're lofting the ceiling by about seven feet, as well as adding more staggered, studded double-walls. We've also applied a thick layer of MLV (mass-loaded vinyl) for greater soundproofing and isolation from outside sounds. Now we're working on creating double walls elsewhere and installing a direct access studio door with glass bricks that will lead directly from the outside straight into the live room which will be über-convenient for loading in equipment and suchlike. Also, there will be sexy lighting fixtures placed between the glass which will create an unmistakably Michael Mann-esque vibe! There will be more details to follow in the coming weeks, but suffice to say we're really blown away at how good the room sounds now.
