We're going to be doing interviews for some new interns middle of August.  We'll be very sad to see our current interns leave, but we're not going to make them our indentured servants and work for us forever.  So if you or anyone you know is interested in learning the ins and outs of the music business please send them to our intern page http://www.callthecow.com/jobsearch.htm.  We're looking for both a tracking engineer and a marketing person.

Who's Been in the Recording Studio

Metal band Light of the Architect came in to record a few songs with us this past month.  With killer double kik beats and thick and low guitars topped with screaming vocals the songs are a whirlwind of power.  Light of the Architect hails from Hoffman Estates and you can hear their songs at http://www.myspace.com/LightOfTheArchitect5

Audio Content (formerly known as The Korrupt) are all but done with their full length album.  The mixes are done and all that's left is mastering.  It's been almost a year in the making but well worth it.

Another blood, sweat, and tears project coming to a close in the next few days is Alison C White.  Her blend of pop and opera make even Sarah Brightman jealous.  Alison had us arrange covers of Queen's "Who Wants to Live Forever", Puccini's "O Mio Babbino Caro", Faith Hill's "I Want You", and Bette Midler's "Glory of Love."  Alison's voice soars beautifully over these songs.  You can now check out her website at www.alisoncwhite.com.

And one final project that's been over a year in the making is also coming to a close this week, Jazz Hooligans.  Doing their own spin on popular cover songs with a large cast of helpers Jeff Foltz has headed the band toward some great recordings.  You can see their new website at http://www.jazzhooligans.com/

MIOBI finished their album early in the month.  Check out http://www.myspace.com/miobimusic to hear the band's rock/metal/punk music.

Recording Tip of the Month

Stay well fed.  No, we're not trying to fatten you up, just want to be sure you can sustain that level of all out energy the entire 10 hour session.  Creativity and motivation wane and blood sugar crashes without food, so eat throughout the day.  You can stop by one of the many, many food joints near us or feel free to bring food with you.  Taking a quick dinner break also helps keep your mind fresh so you can come back rejuvinated.  The one exception, singers stay away from milkshakes and anything too heavy before you record.  Nothing worse than having a froggy throat because of what you just ate.
